Local Activities
June 1 until early September:
Minneapolis Outdoor Concert Series over 220 concerts held
at four Minneapolis parks. Just about every musical style is
represented, many local artists and musicians are taking
part, and every concert is free.
June 4 - June 7:
10-Minute Play Festival the Lakeshore Players premier ten
comedies and dramas in White Bear Lake in this annual
festival.
June 6 and throughout the summer:
Minneapolis MOSAIC Festival for the Arts opens today. An
evening of free performances in downtown Minneapolis kicks
off the festival this evening. Festival events continue
throughout the summer.
June 7:
The 36th annual Grand Old Day has a parade, sporting
events, international music from several local acts,
dancing, children's activities, food, free beauty products
and more. On St. Paul's Grand Avenue.
June 13:
Northside Arts Collective Spring Art Party in Folwell
Park, north Minneapolis, shows of the work of local artists.
June 13, and every other Saturday until October 3:
Saturday Night Historic Cruise Ins Classic cars will be
filling downtown Hastings twice a month. If you want to
bring yours, it has to be pre-1976, and worthy of the
attention.
June 14:
The annual Juneteenth festival is now on Sunday. The
festival, held in Theodore Wirth Park, celebrates the end of
slavery in America. Three stages of live music, food, art,
readings, history villages, and a parade.
June 18 and Thursdays throughout the summer:
Music and Movies in District del Sol begins this week.
Local bands perform, and outdoor movies in Spanish and
English are shown every Thursday evening in St. Paul's
District del Sol until the August. Free.
June 18, and Thursdays until July 30:
Marketfest is a free family festival in downtown White
Bear Lake. A car show, live music, wagon rides, arts and
crafts, and more every Thursday evening.
June 18 - June 20:
The Twin Cities Jazz Festival kicks off in Mears Park in
Downtown St. Paul.
