2010 International Society for Behavioral Nutrition and Physical Activity

The International Society for Behavioral Nutrition and Physical Activity (ISBNPA) and the University of Minnesota hired The Odyssey Group to manage their annual international conference that was held in Minneapolis, MN. ISBNPA has an international presence with nearly 400 members representing 29 countries. Their members come together from more than 40 government agencies, industry and professional organizations as well as close to 150 academic and medical institutions. Members bring to this organization a diversity of experience and expertise with professional credentials including BSc, DrPH, EdD, LD, MBA, MD, MPH, MSC, PhD, RD, and RN. Over 450 participants from over 30 countries attended this 4-day event.

Our role was to oversee all aspects of the conference, which included development of the conference website (www.togpartners.com/isbnpa); planning special events for physical activity opportunities and arranging transportation for these events, coordinating 3 preconference workshops, managing registration, planning and coordinating a reception and arranging transportation, working with speakers to obtain AV requirements and pre-loading presentations on computers, creating a floor plan to accommodate over 300 posters for display, developing a nutritional menu and working with catering staff to ensure all food was nutritional, organic and that the hotel used recyclable products, ensuring 5 keynote presentations, 40 symposia and 22 oral sessions ran smoothly, coordinate 5 lunch meetings and 4 evening dinners during the conference for various groups of the society. Marketing materials included: 2 flyers; postcard, 400+ page abstract book, 50 page program book, flyers on special events, nutritional and directional signage.
